Terms and cancellation
Who you are booking with
Bookings are made with Sibo Bangoura. Questions about anything on this page go to sibo.bangoura.retreat@gmail.com.
How booking works
There is no card payment on this website. Sending the booking form registers your interest and nothing more. It does not hold a spot, it does not create a contract, and you are not charged anything at that point.
Sibo then contacts you, normally on WhatsApp, to confirm a place is available and to give you his bank details. A $200 deposit by bank transfer holds your spot. The balance is due 30 days before the retreat, or you can settle the whole thing on arrival. Your spot is held once that deposit reaches him, and the terms below apply from that moment rather than from when you sent the form.
$599 per person. That is the full price, nothing is added later.
If you need to cancel
- More than 60 days out, full refund less a $50 admin fee.
- Between 30 and 60 days, refund of everything except the $200 deposit.
- Inside 30 days, no refund, but you can transfer your spot to someone else at no cost. Just tell us who.
Spots are transferable right up to the day before. Send us the name and we will move it over.
If we cancel
If the retreat is cancelled by us for any reason, you get everything back in full.
If something outside anyone's control makes the retreat impossible, such as a fire ban, flood or a public health order closing the site, you can take a full refund or move your spot to the next retreat. Your choice, not ours.
The Guinea study tour
Registering for the info night costs nothing and commits you to nothing. If you go on to join the tour, a $1,000 deposit holds a place, arranged directly with Sibo, with the balance due 60 days before departure. The deposit is non refundable, because flights, accommodation and tuition in Guinea are committed well ahead. Everything beyond the deposit is refundable up to 60 days out.
Flights, visa, vaccinations and travel insurance are yours to arrange and yours to pay for. Travel insurance is a condition of joining the tour, not a suggestion.
Your health and your limits
Drumming and dance are physical. You are responsible for knowing your own body and for sitting a session out when you need to, which nobody will think anything of. If there is an injury or a condition Sibo should know about, tell him when he confirms your place.
Camp Glenrock is a bushland site. There is uneven ground, there is wildlife, and there is a beach a walk away that is not patrolled. Ordinary care applies.
Photos and video
We photograph and film at the retreat and use some of it afterwards. If you would rather not appear anywhere, tell us at any point during the week and we will keep you out of it. No explanation needed.
Behaviour
The room only works because everybody in it is willing to be a beginner in front of other people. Anything that makes that harder for somebody else, and we will ask you to leave without a refund. This has never happened. It is written down so it stays that way.
